Hey there! I’m David, your friendly neighborhood dad, husband and dog lover, navigating the highs and lows of family life. By day, I’m a dad-on-duty and chief household problem-solver (at least that’s how I see myself :O). Whether I’m crafting the perfect day trip, being the designated spider-catcher, or simply offering a listening ear after a long day, I take pride in being the anchor in our little haven of love and partnership.
When I’m not immersed in the beautiful chaos of family, you’ll catch me outdoors, soaking in nature’s tranquility. In winter, you’ll find me gliding down snowy slopes on skis or reveling in the tranquility of winter landscapes through invigorating hikes.
Summer, on the other hand, beckons me to the open seas as sailing becomes my preferred mode of adventure. These activities aren’t just recreational; they’re my way of establishing an unfiltered connection in the unparalleled beauty of nature. But you will also catch me indoors, as a devoted water polo enthusiast who continues to ride the waves of aquatic competition even after 25 years of practice.
If not outdoors or indoors, I’m somewhere in between, in my 2 cylinder rolling time capsule, Citroen 2CV. It’s not about speed with this classic; it’s about savoring the journey, embracing the wind in your hair, and relishing the connection between man and machine. So, buckle up, because in the next paragraph, something veeeeery serious is coming.
Did I mention I also happen to hold a PhD and have some expertise in understanding children as consumers through the prism of their attitudes and healthy food choices. Yeah, it’s true but long story short goes like this: guiding children as consumers plays a pivotal role in shaping their attitudes and habits, particularly when it comes to selecting healthy foods. As guardians of their well-being, we hold the compass that charts their course through the vast landscape of food choices. By instilling positive attitudes and habits early on, we empower children to make informed decisions that will influence their lifelong relationship with nutrition with the ultimate goal of obesity prevention. Our role extends beyond mere instruction; it involves cultivating a positive mindset around food necessary to navigate the complex world of consumer choices. In essence, guiding children as consumers of healthy food is an investment in their long-term well-being.
My goal is to recount often difficult and incomprehensible scientific findings in the language of an “ordinary” person. My desire is to bring you theoretical findings and techniques that you can use to change the future of your children because, together, we sow the seeds of a healthier, happier future for the generations to come.
